What kind of health insurance is available to pensioners?
This information is only valid through June 30, 2009
Health insurance coverage available to pensioners and their dependents, up to age 65, is generally the same as that available to active CTA employees. The pensioner decides, at retirement, what kind of medical coverage the pensioner needs.
Currently, the Plan pays the premium for the pensioner but the pensioner must pay the premium for any dependents. The dental premiums, for both a pensioner and dependents are paid by the pensioner.
At age 65, the Plan will pay the premium for a Complement to Medicare Plan. Dental coverage is not available after age 65.
